Despite being relatively small, Malta, an island that lies in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea between Sicily and Africa, offers the travelers lots of natural beauties and historical monuments. There are some megalithic temples, a mighty fortress system, romantic cities, and breathtaking baroque and renaissance palaces. Most of Malta's settlements were built by the knights of St. John of Jerusalem that is why the cities resemble each other so much.
